A Swiss Studio Trip

The latest studio trip saw Piercy&Company visit Zumthor's St. Benedict Chapel in Sumvitg and experience The Therme Vals from the poolside. The elegance and simplicity of Zumthor's work stem from materiality, beautiful craftsmanship and contextual connections, qualities much admired by the studio.

With digital production and custom fabrication of immense interest to the studio, the trip was rounded off with a visit to the Gramazio Kohler Research laboratory at ETH Zurich, where the team saw the possibilities allowed by cutting edge robotic fabrication processes firsthand.
