Senior Architect/Designer (Interiors team)

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Architect/Designer with a workplace focus to join our recently formed Design Studio team at Piercy&Co.

Headed up by Fiona Neil and Cathrin Walczyk, the interdisciplinary Design Studio is the furniture, interiors and design strategy node within the practice. We are a small but growing team closely connected with the wider studio, and are looking for talented individuals to join us to take on some of the exciting opportunities on our horizon. Ranging from bespoke objects to large scale interiors and big picture thought-pieces, we want to explore the role of design in the wider context of culture and human experience, and build our work on the practice's long-standing focus on materiality, making and human-scale detail.

We are looking to hire a versatile designer or architect with strong workplace experience and a passion for pushing forward debates around workplace design. As a small team, there is an ambition that this role will step up quite quickly and take on a leadership role. The ideal candidate would bring with them most of the following skills and qualifications:

—Outstanding conceptual, design and visual communication skills, as well as an excellent eye for details
—Excellent communication and presentation skills
—Ability to lead pitches and competitions independently
—8 years + of post bachelor experience
—Proven working knowledge of new build interior and retrofit projects from concept through to completion, including FF&E procurement, materials, finishes, detailing and scheduling; with a strong focus in workspaces
—Experience working with clients in space budgeting and space planning would be advantageous
—Great people skills, able to manage teams and maintain excellent client relationships
—Experience leading project design teams and managing on-site relationships
—Familiarity with current UK regulations, codes and best practice
—An interest in pushing forward a sustainability agenda within interior projects
—Experience in furniture production would be of advantage
—Familiarity and skill in the use of a range of creative and CAD programmes
—An open mind and keen interest in design and the world around you.

Most of all, we are looking for someone with passion and creativity, and who could become a strong voice in our team.
