Kiehl's Flagship Store

Piercy&Company's window installation draws on the roots of Kiehl’s Since 1851 as an old-world apothecary and celebrates their exploration of the power of botanical ingredients. The window, which coincides with the launch of their Nightly Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate, takes as a reference the Quinoa plant, the fermented husks of which are used as the active ingredient in the product.

The plant was imagined as a three dimensional macroscopic specimen, each ‘husk’ slip-cast from delicate porcelain and arranged around a digitally printed framework. The combination of the natural and the manufactured, the crafted and the the digital is common ground for both Piercy&Company and Kiehl’s Since 1851.  

At the centre of the seed head, the seeds - bottles of the product - are lit, glowing with the distinctive green of the micro-peel.

Alongside the delicate Quinoa plant sit plaster moulds, glazing tests and other artefacts of the making process. This celebrates the processes and provenance of the piece as well as its final form.
