Unveiling Turnmill

21st May

When complete, Turnmill, on Clerkenwell Road, will provide over 9,000 sqm of high quality creative work space with two large restaurant units flanking the reception area on the ground floor.

As the protective covers are removed over the coming weeks, passers-by will be able to see the brick façade with its curved edges and chamfered window reveals for the first time. The bricks are handmade Roman format ‘Kolumba’ bricks by Petersen, with a bespoke colour palette matching the surrounding conservation area. The angles of the chamfered window reveals fan out across the building so that each window provides maximum daylight in and views out for the office users. En-masse, these varied chamfers animate the façade and emphasise the curved plan of the building.

The entire building was pre-let to Saatchi & Saatchi owners Publicis Groupe on a 20 year lease some 15 months ahead of completion and is scheduled for practical completion in summer 2014.
