Oxford House

Landsec

A folded design bringing depth and views along Oxford Street.

Oxford House
Landsec

This residential scheme of 89-high specification apartments is a conversion and extension of a 1960s commercial building, retaining a significant part of the internal structure. The appearance and function of the building is completely transformed with a new articulated façade and double-height retail frontage.

The façade responds to the varied architectural context of Oxford Street. Inspired by traditional, storefront bay windows, the folded design brings depth, shadow, and articulation to the previously flat elevation. Creating a finely textured façade, the bays provide views east and west along Oxford Street, signifying the building’s change from commercial to residential use.
